A BRAND NEW FESTIVAL FOR CROUCH END
Sean Lock heads a stellar line up of comedians…
In celebration of 30 years of comedy Downstairs at the Kings Head – one of the oldest comedy clubs in the UK – we’re proud to present the Crouch End Comedy Festival from Monday 19th to Sunday 25th October 2015.
Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre, ArtHouse, Earl Haig Hall and the newly refurbished Downstairs at the Kings Head are joining forces to present a feast of comedy gigs and special events.
Sean Lock, Stewart Lee, Arthur Smith, John Hegley and Phil Nichol lead a star-studded line up appearing in 5 glittering shows at the Kings Head.
The venue’s co-founder Peter Grahame says, “We’ve got some fantastic acts lined up for the festival and we’re also promising loads of surprise appearances by some of the most famous names in the comedy business.”
On Tuesday 20th Boom-Tish present Best New Act 2015 – a brand new competition for comedy and variety acts, hosted by Dominic Frisby in a 1940’s style “comedy bunker” at the Earl Haig Hall.
On Thursday 22nd Boom-Tish! presents a night of comedy and variety with award-winning comics Vikki Stone and Jay Foreman at the ArtHouse.
ArtHouse is also presenting two great events for kids – a comedy music show and comedy workshop on Saturday 24th and a magic show with veteran comedian Otiz Cannelloni on Sunday 25th.
Friday 23rd October features a Festival Comedy Gala in the 800 seat venue at Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre starring Edinburgh Comedy Award winners Phil Nichol and Roisin Conarty, plus Mark Dolan, Josh Howie and many more.
The festival comes to a close on Sunday 25th as Sketch Club present a showcase featuring Mid-Brow – winners of The Gilded Balloon’s prestigious Best New Sketch Act 2015.
